GCSE & A-level English Language & Literature
GCSE English is designed to enable students of all abilities to develop the skills they need to read, understand and analyse a wide range of different texts covering the 19th, 20th and 21st century time periods as well as to write clearly, coherently and accurately using a range of vocabulary and sentence structures. Further advice will be given on delivering presentations and performing other speaking and listening tasks. Our English sessions will help students to develop the theoretical tools that will enable them to analyse and interpret a wide range of texts, they will explore English as a literary language and track its development as a global language of communication. They will be studying influential texts, and considering relevant debates and theories, we will support them in ensuring they develop key analytical skills and a deep theoretical knowledge of genres and styles.
Our small group sizes mean there is a low ratio of teacher to students compared to the classes in schools. We are up to date with the government changes to the national curriculum, with experienced and qualified teachers leading each group. We use exam papers to practice and to help students familiarise themselves with the exam language and exam technique. We differentiate tasks given to our students and strive to ensure our students’ specific needs are met. We are very much involved with ensuring your child achieves their targets grade for this subject or even better achieve beyond their target grades. Call 07792834542 for more details.
